So lets now add what another 120 lenses to the Sony lens abilities. This camera is truly more than anything a digital back

I had a commlite E to EF adapter that worked well with Canon lens for aperture control with MF.
One can hope that if they are doing A7RII phase detection AF for Nikon they will retro fit it to Canon version as well.

Guy, Back with the original NEX5 release I used to say it was nothing more than a universal digital back for every lens out there :)

Does the AF ONLY work with Nikon lenses from 2006 and later?

Just kidding... ;)
Funny that you asked. I have a 80/2.8 and a 200/3.5 AF Nikkor that will not AF with ANY current Nikon camera.

(They were made for the short lived F3AF and worked only on that and a one other camera from that time)

That is such cool news for this old Nikon shooter. Imagine that huge 12/24 hung on the front of my rII. Not to mention the 85mm f/1.4... I can picture my D4s hitting the market soon.

This is exactly what I think of these cameras. I have the A7R and use it like a digital back and is very convenient.

I use it with the Horseman VVC Pro and the Kipon Tilt Shift adapter and when I want simple just a Fotodiox Nikon to E-mount adapter.

Whenever this one AF adapter be out, I will have AF with my 85mm G 1.8 and 60mm Macro 24-85mm zoom lens.

I just love this system.

AFAIK, not yet. It should be available soon. Just the fact someone has cracked the adapter issue itself is great news. :)

I have doubt unless Nikon reaches some agreement with Sony. Currently Sony's FE cameras post a real threat to Nikon cameras so this adapter should not work well. The adapter is done by reverse engineering using previous an adapter for G lens to EF mount.....Of course this is my speculation...collected from those adapter makers based here in Hong Kong
