Squealing lens noise with Metabones IV

Yesterday I was shooting with my Canon 70-300L and sony A7R II. The lens seemed to work fine, but then started making a high pitched squealing noise (AF and IS used). Has anybody experienced this before? or know what might be causing the issue?

I stopped using the lens immediately. I tried replicating the issue today but have not succeeded. Using Metabones IV, BT4 version, 0.41 firmware, green mode.

I haven't had the lens make any noise before. What I get with my metabones is a grinding noise when attaching the lens. It always makes me worried but I've seen no damage.
