It's been non stop here for several weeks. If it's not rainy, it's dark overcast and gloomy.

But, we need the rain, so can't really complain. Too much.

First walkabout snaps with the new RX1RII. Hard to believe I'm packing 42 MP in that little camera hanging around my neck. Some visible coma and CA on high contrast edges when lens is wide open, but generally easy to deal with in post.

First two at f/8 and last two at f/2.

    Bent tree

    Weathered park office door.

    New fence around carousel

    Another bent tree

An example of the CA exhibited by the 35 Sonnar at f/2. Look at the two recessed lights in the ceiling over the sign and the fluorescent lights inside the store. First image is w/o CA correction and second includes LR CA and de-fringing corrections. Click image for larger version.

Carl, you should really try the C1 express (free) as the converter.

What was the LPF setting for that shot?

Thanks, I'll take look at C1 Express. I've had LPF OFF for all shots.

Jim, your DC metro series is bringing back lots of memories! In the mid-00s I completed a graduate program at GWU, starting and ending my days in that metro station...

We paid 100 for an old Winkelmann baby grand piano to save it from destruction. It needs a little tender loving care. 25 sec with the RX1R2 @100ISO.

Too bad.. because it would have been a great capture..

or may be you noticed the error just as you were shooting and your swearing/bitching attracted the look of the little girl ?

    It almost always is.

She was aware that I was snapping (that perhaps did not help as it was over in subseconds).

The Nikon hipster glanced at me/camera and was not impressed.

I can see it now - "Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico" as shot with an RX1rII, except with a big blue flash on the left side of the image.

I like the sensor and the lens. Sharp, detailed, with a sense of space. My camera is within the range that could be affected by the light leak but it is not leaking anywhere, so far

Also suitable for producing B&W selfies (that's my shadow hiding in the shadow of the tree)

It actually looks like damage to the car, not a light leak.
    Ok, my turn.
The angle of the tram slopes away from the passers-by and the slight reflections coincide with the woman's white sleeve and the curves and metal adornments of her handbag. Damage to the car would have resulted in a caving of the faint straight lines that can be seen along it.
    So there!

GUS rather than GAS. It is an user camera that ought to be used every day.
