I want to acknowledge the Zeiss repair team in the US for their exemplary service.
My 12mm Touit suddenly stopped focusing last week. Neither manual nor auto focus worked, on a6000 or A7 series bodies. The service department advised me to ship it to them, which I did about a week ago. Two days ago, I got an email acknowledging receipt of same, and saying that after inspecting the lens, they decided to replace it. A brand new one arrived today.
Most gratifying.

They gave similarly responsive service when I sent the same lens for a firmware update last year.

The Touit is a lovely, somewhat under-appreciated lens, in my opinion.
