The primes closer to "Zeiss look" in Minolta system are 28mm f2 and 35mm f2 but you have to be lucky to find them...

This is a shots from 35mm f2 @f2

A brilliant lens.

These from 28mm f2 RS, one of the sharpest lenses ever made.

With A900 I sold 35mm f2 and kept 28mm f2.
Is the Minolta MD 28 f2 the same optical formula as the newer AF versions?
Looks like they are all 9 elements/9 groups.
Just bought a MD 28 f2 to convert for my 1ds3 for about $200.It will keep my Minolta Rokkor 58 1.2's company, another great Minolta lens from the past.

So who got the Minolta AF 2/28mm from the UK eBay ?
I hope it was a member so that we will see some more nice pictures from that excellent wide angle prime here on the GetDPI Sony board :)

Cool! Thanks for the info. This lens has a floating element good for up close focusing, so I look forward to seeing what it can do as a wide angle portrait lens. Love your B&W portrait shot with the 35 f2.
