Carl, it's kind of funny. When I see at the full size 25% picture it doesn't look sharp to me. But when looking at the 100% crops they definitely have detail to spare. I asume it is because the Mamiya lens not having enough contrast and teeth. (perhaps?).

Hey, Carl, have you tried the Rhino in vertical position? Is it possible to shoot a final vertical 645 with a little "circus and juggling?

    Thanks for everything

More likely a result of the downsampling w/o sharpening. Most high res images do not look that great when sampled down below 50%. Vertical is no problem, just bit awkward on the tripod.

    Re: Fun With Sony _____

A few photos from my son's flag football game. Shot with Sony a900 and Sony 70-200/2.8G. Overcast conditions so a lot of the shots were at iso 640. One problem though: the lens refused to focus for a few seconds; it wasn't the first time it happened. It worked again after I turned off then turned on the camera. Photos are cropped.

Thank you in advance for the likes.

Some very nice macros on this page Georg. I find the quadcopter a bit liberal on "clarity" or "local contrast enhancement" but other than that I like them, especially the last two.

Thanks Pegelli. Agreed on the quad, it was too much from my detail extractor layer. I just picked up photography again after 1.5 years absence and I am totally new to Lightroom 5 , Photoshop CC and the - amazing - NIK collection. Just have it all installed since yesterday and I suppose my experimentation goes a bit through with me at times. LOL

Btw. They were all handheld shots with the Zeiss 135mm, beyond doubts, the finest piece of glass I ever owned.... mhhh... so far that is.

P.S. Used to live in Belgium myself llong time ago when I studied Musik in Aix la Chappelle

An old one shot with my NEX 7 and god knows what lens - Probably my ZM50 or the Voigtlander 35/1.2 II.

Bought a few of the VSCO film packs for LR a while back and I've been playing around learning how to create particular looks manually based on how I've seen the presets setup.

Great nailshots Georg, 2 doesn't do too much for me (I prefer all sharp vs. bokeh in these type of shots) but 1, 3 and 4 together would make an excellent triptych when printed large and hung together.

    Hi Pegelli,

Thanks. This idea is somewhat on my mind in deed. I am not happy with my post processing, but it is the "goofing stage", making a few test shots, and goofing around with it.

The age of the horse fence and location is somewhat special. That triggered the idea when I was walking around there yesterday with my 24-70.

I am looking at some "Niche stuff" from Novoflex here:

    Novoflex - Tilt-/Shift Bellows

I received a cactus v5 wireless kit and tested it out on my NEX 7 with a manual flash. It worked well letting me get usable results at 1/200 over the 1/160 default in a NEX 7. By 1/500 the shutter was still in about a third of the frame but the images were ok with a crop. All with Sony NEX 7 + Zeiss Sonnar FE 35/2.8

    Re: Fun With Sony _____

I am having better luck autofocusing with the a57 than with the a7...is it the adapter that is causing this? It's not a question of speed...trees and flowers aren't running down the sideline...it's a question of accuracy. I'm getting more winners with the a57...BTW: the a57 is a very good little camera...plasticky...but very pleased with the results.

As an aside, the photo tacked to my bathroom wall in the first shot was also shot on the NEX 7 with the Minolta AF 50/1.7.
