^^ Nice viewpoint on that last one Slingers. I really like the color and texture contrasts that are in that picture between the station building, the train and the ferns.

The grave site of Able Seaman John Hartnell, member of the ill-fated Franklin Expedition, who died in 1846 at the age of 25 yrs.

This is on Beechey Island in Canada's high arctic and one of the loneliest places I have ever visited.

Went to Miami Design District last weekend. Didn't see much art around, but luxury shopping center & boutiques instead... Art galleries can't afford any space there, silly me.

This was taken with an a6000 + Sony 35mm 1.8 - my usual toddler-capture combination. While it could have been better with an a7 series cam + sharper lens + manual stitching, I'm impressed by what the auto pan mode and almost no processing can do. Perfect? No. But fun!

Full res version available via link, in case anyone's curious.

Something different, last Friday was the 100th day of 2015, so time to use my OM Zuiko 100/2.8. It always loses out to the OM Zuiko 85/2 and is my least used lens (only 1 test shot in my Lightroom Library, that's all). After this maybe I'm going to take this one along a bit more often, because I like what it produced in terms of rendering, sharpness and bokeh.

I'm posting this here because I think it was a Minolta camera I used (might have been a Yashica). Taken nearly 50 years ago in rural Quebec. Was originally Agfachrome film.

We are so spoilt today with digital metadata!

^^ Lovely shot Bill. Who cares about the camera and exposure details. The most important metadata is probably on the side of the film anyway

Not a fan of the a77 mkII sensor color output. Very weak, desaturated OOC colors in RAW. If you haven't compared IR or DP raw sample files yet shot with Sony cameras, take a look. It looks like an S-Log flat profile is sneaking into stills.
Here you can find my test shots between a100, a850 & a77 mk2 in raw shot with the same lens.

Interesting observation Malina, but isn't that something that can easily be solved by a different default raw conversion? At least in Lightroom I'm using different defaults conversions between my different cameras to have a more or less consistent starting point between them.

I haven't developed a custom preset for each camera+lens combination because I'm pretty much very confident and satisfied with color accuracy of the LR default (adobe standard) starting point (for a100 & a850). I tried different color profiles and custom actions, but they don't work for the same cam+lens combo in different shooting environments for me. BTW, I tried to match the colors of a100 & a850 in the test shots I shared and could not achieve it completely. The color difference between a100 & a850 could be called "negligible", but it is huge when you compare either one of those discontinued cameras to the newest model, a77 mkII.

Thanks for the explanation Malina, I don't have an A77ii but sometimes think I should get one just so I can continue using my A-mount lenses on a native A-mount camera. However as long as my trusty A850 keeps clicking I probably won't take the plunge. Maybe I'll have to steer towards an A99 then (or A99ii)

Here's an example from last weekend with my A850 and an el-cheapo Helios 44-2 (a Russian 58/2 Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar clone with M42 thread). This shot is at f2.8, nothing to complain about for the 25 UK pounds I payed for that lens I think

those a850/900 cams will outlast everything Sony produced afterwards. Not a single glitch with a trusty a850.

    a850 with support of a100.
