I'm afraid not, they will probably all go to the dedicated A7 series thread and still leave the other cameras orphaned in this general Sony thread

But that doesn't stop me from posting here

No doubt the film used was only sensitive to blue light, so the viewfinder accurately presented the tonality of the photo.

Two shots from the Florida State Sunshine Games water polo tournament. Sony a900 w/ Sony 70-200/2.8G. May have used the 1.4x extender. Cropped. I didn't dial down the blues because the water was pretty much that color. The late afternoon sun was shining in the backhand post, so the skin colors are that orangey late afternoon Florida sun color. I really have to start shooting something else. No weddings. Thank you in advance for any likes.

The guys with the new cameras will extoll the virtues of the new camera (the IQ, autofocus, sensor, etc.) but their photos will look no different on this forum than their other photos that were taken with "lesser" cameras. After a while, the kvelling becomes ponderous.

Like P, I am content to post on this forum until my a900 dies in my hands at a water polo tournament or a swim meet.

    Louboutin's Red
    a100+85/1.4ZA
I feel perplexed after trying to replicate the original Red hue of these Louboutins. Always thought a100 could capture reds with better accuracy than a850 does, but they both fail in doing it.
I'm working in LR. My screen supports adobeRGB color space. sRGB can't fathom this color.
Is it even possible to present a color accurately in sRGB color space when original hue is out of sRGB gamut? Simple color space conversion doesn't work in this case.

I think you'll be out of luck here, out of gamut means it can't be shown. Still nice shoes

That is raising many questions that are destined for a different topic about color output. Wish camera manufacturers showed in their spec sheets how many billions of colors their cameras can record with 100% accuracy. What's the point in spending money on wide-gamut color monitor when your camera can't record what the screen is capable to display... or is it the other way around?

The sunset over the sea in Knokke last weekend was spectacular. I pulled back the red saturation on this one, since some of the reds in the sky were outside the sRGB gamut, so it was really like this, no exxageration (to the contrary)

    NEX6 + OM Zuiko 200/4

Malina, if you ever find a way to show better reds in sRGB let me know, this picture needs some of that as well.

I see amazing sunsets daily, but I can't record and display the scenery at its full glory as I witnessed it. Not sure who/what to blame here. They say the tech gets better and better, but it is nothing like reality no matter how hard they push their products.
I don't have any solution for restoring out of gamut reds in sRGB, Pegelli, but working/showcasing images on a wide gamut adobeRGB monitor. Though adobeRGB can struggle with accurate rendition of reds tones at times.

Did a little test to see how far I could perspective correction in Lightroom

The full capture (NEX6 + E10-18/4 @ 10 mm), pointing the camera up:

Perspective corrected and adjusted the aspect slider so it looked "natural" (needed to stretch the image further vertically):

I'm pretty happy with the result of this "poor mans" tilt/shift function

Btw, the subject is the Notre Dame cathedral in Amiens, the largest Gothic cathedral in France (or at least that's what they claim at the tourist office)

Some people were complaining that the "Fun with A7 series cameras" is getting too quiet after all the heavy artillery in the A7rII threads all but killed it.

I'd say welcome to the club , this thread almost sank to page 2

How about a night shot from Saumur to get it back up

It's called the CitroŽn HY. This one isn't running, but the guy has 6 or 7 and is restoring them back into working order. Most were closed but this one is a much rarer pick-up version, so I guess one day this one can also go back on the road again.
