The Hummer's sharp tongue saved this image from the recycle bin and made it my favorite from the session. With the camera in silent mode and wearing their favorite red shirt, I was able to shoot from < 3 ft away. There were a few birds present, just racing all around me and seemingly not concerned in the slightest that I was there. Truly memorable!

Mrs. 251 and I are moving in 3 weeks and hate to say goodbye to our great backyard bird setup. While visiting our new place I asked about the local bird population and was told to expect hummers to show within 15 minutes of unveiling the feeder. Count me in!

    Re: Fun With Sony _____

My A850 broke , a motherboard failure as judged by the symptoms. Maybe a good excuse to finally plunge down on an A7 series, but still thinking about it

In the meantime I dusted off my A700 and took that with me on a short trip to the Belgian coast the past days. Even though it's 2007 technology it still works quite well and is a lot lighter and quieter then the A850. There's probably a lot better cameras out there now, but I found it a joy to use

Here's a sunset from the balcony, more from this trip will follow later

    Ruby

First time this year that a Ruby came by when I was already ready to go. I was shooting in silent mode at mfd and this little guy stayed for maybe 10 seconds, then poof and gone. Since the A7R2 won't shoot silent+continuous at the same time the A6300 got the call - am looking forward to some of the A6300 strengths to trickle-up!
