Probably most of you know by now that Japan just experienced two large earthquakes back to back. The second and largest one measured an 8.9 on the richter scale at it's epicenter and occurred on March 11, 2011, 3PM, about 30 miles off the coast of Sendai - which is about 230 miles north of Tokyo. I live about 300km (or 180 miles) west/south-west of Tokyo. So about 440~450 miles as the crow flied from my house. Here it registered a 4.0.
I can sense alpha waves. I had been sensing them for about the past 4 to 5 days. When they hit me it's a similar feeling to the cheek-clenching disorientation one feels while undergoing vertigo. I guess this is what birds and animals react to as well. Anyway, so I was prepared. I had my little survival pack, my camera, and a heavy jacket (it's about 10C highs here) on a hook near my door. When this last one hit I was out the door and in a large clearing in less than 30 seconds.
It was a very easy quake - very gentle rolling like the sway of a boat on calm seas. It actually reminded me of standing on a surfboard. For some reason the first thing I thought to do while standing there was to whip out my stopwatch and time it. From the time I started the clock to the last detectable wave was 12 minutes 22 seconds. Wow! And then... it continued... and continued some more. It seemed like for the better part of an hour I was still feeling the sways and tilts. And they were all verifiable by watching the wobble of two telephone posts lined up in line of sight. It's actually still going on and the last one was March 12, at about 4AM (2.5 hours prior to writing this, and 37 hours after the big one). It registered a 1.8 here where I live but I had my pack, jacket, and was in the clearing in less than 15 seconds all the same
The large quake of 11/3, 3:00PM didn't do much damage on it's own. Japanese have lived on one of the most active faults for thousands of years and the culture oscillates it's building methods between weather & quake safe and ultra-cheap. Luckily the past 20 years here there has been a huge swing toward the safe side of the pendulum. Given that and the epicenter's location I seriously doubt more than a few hundred people perished as a direct result of the quake and that's probably considering both of the quakes.

The image(s) you see (bottom) and at that link, are an indirect result however. A title wave or "tsunami" in Japanese, measuring between 8 meters and 10 meters in height across the bulk of it slammed into the coastal areas and just like smaller ones do at the beach flowed inland. A title wave like this is actually a wave set just like surf and yes one could indeed surf these massive waves when they are off the coast and not gushing between trees and houses. It's ALSO like a tidal increase and that overall increase is what is being referred to when the news people say "10 meters high".
This tidal wave has done massive damage and the death toll will be very very high - perhaps in the hundreds of thousands but certainly in the tens of thousands. This ocean event has also created several massive whirl-poolsthat have sucked down ships and their crew members. We won't know exactly how many people died for months. And because of the conditions caused by this many more people will die over the next few days. Prayer has been scientifically proven to help so even if you're not usually a praying man I urge you to pray (or meditate) for the safety, well being, and survival of those in trouble!
I'd like to mention that flood water is dirty! Very very dirty! It's much more "septic" than just before you flush your toilet and more like after it's been sitting there for a week but mixed with rotting garbage and in this case industrial chemicals and chemical wastes.
Another impending doom to include in your prayers is an impending meltdown of a near-by nuclear power plant. It's located here:

and the core coolant inlet valves are currently malfunctioning. The jet streams sweep down from China and up from the left side of the pacific basin. They meet just about right over Japan at it's western most tip and flow eastward across Japan and end up on the west coast of the USA and Mexico. If this thing does go off I would avoid any kind of processed fish for at least 4 years, including all salmon that's not from scandinavia, and I would increase the amount of iodine supplements and vitamin C as well.

Finally, what caused this earthquake? Well it's a perfectly natural occurrence and Japan gets a big one like this about every 100 years. The fact that we were just blasted with a VERY large coronal ejection (solar flare) and that we entered a super-moon event at almost the same time probably had a lot to do with it. You can search "Super Moon 2011" to find out more about that but it started a few days ago and will last for a few weeks more. The extreme of this lunar event will be on March 19th. Either of these two events separately only has minimal affects on planetary conditions but some scientists are suggesting that the two events combine to multiply the overall impact to what may be "noticeable" levels.
I'd like to stress here that those suggesting man-made global warming (AKA: Climate change) is somehow at fault are either mindless sheep or are after 2 things: A socialistic/communistic control grid, and/or YOUR MONEY! By now I assume most of us have read of the various and many frauds the various "governmental agencies" have been caught red handed trying to perpetrate on the world. No doubt they will use this event to further their backward-arse goals and already have been doing so - which is why I felt the need to mention it here.
In conclusion, pray for us, be safe, and don't get suckered in by scam artists trying to use human suffering to further their personal gain or promote their political agenda.
Peace out!
