Here is one from my newly acquired Steinheil Munchen Auto-Quinon 55/1.9

I like this lens, but it has a quiet bokeh.

This was taken at f1.9 - I have a couple more

Keith

PS: I don't know what this flower is but its smell is wonderful - a little like Lilac

This topic continues going stronger and stronger ...:D
Congrats to all the participants :thumbs:

Here's one I shot this morning with the G1 and the newly acquired Leitz Hektor 125/2.5

A pair of lenses having joined my "stable" in the last weeks and one being on the road,
I tought it was time for an update on my F(lower)L(ens)AD(ay) project.

So I gladly present :D

Rafael's FLAD #27, G1 with Meade 1000mm f11 Mirror Lens

Not the sharpest of lenses, but still a nice bokeh for a mirror-lens, I think

Stay tuned for more,
Rafael

Wow! This thread has legs  Well done everyone.

Keith has inspired me to dig through some archived Steinheil lens photos and since I don't post as often as I'd like here are three images. These two lenses rank among my favourites. Is your 55/1.9 lens silver with a silver (some are black) stop-down lever, Keith?

Hi Winkel

This is my Steinheil - your pics show that it is a wonderful lens for bokehgraphy. And that is my experience in the earlydays of using it

So glad that you are doing the second phase of your project. With fall coming on will you have enough subjects? Everyone has been waiting for this.

For most or my photographic life I have been concerned with sharpness. But sharpness does not always do the best for the image.

Love the mirror lens

Michiel - I had a similar experience today with the dentist. All I can say is that dentistry has improved a lot since I was a kid.

I love the colors and composition in this one

Keith

"Morning Dew Take 2". G1 + IGW f1,9. :)

Here is one from today, sunday, when I had to get a root canal treatment at the dentist.
Didn't make me feel any better yet so I thought I do something with happy colours to comfort myself.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for your comment !

I still have a few flowers in the garden, but, you're right, it's now or next year

As for sharpness, I have been shooting "unsharp" pictures every now and then, they were called the "non-keepers". But, thanks to this topic, I look at them with a different eye, and sometimes find the beauty of unsharpness

Here's the second lens of the pair that found it's way to my home recently.

Rafael's FLAD #28, G1 with Leitz Hektor 125/2.5

I could buy this lens, that usually is quite expensive for a good price,
and in an "as new" shape from a seller in Belgium.
Very glad I spent a few hundreds of dollars
;)

Now, I have to wait for the next lens to arrive from France,
and the adapter from HongKong.

Stay tuned for more,
Rafael

Very good one Jim!
Love the atmosphere and the sort of naked old body in the background :)
