Nice shot, a difficult lens to focus because of the reduced DOF. At what aperture did you shoot?

I've got this one too, it has been modified to M42 mount to use with EOS.
    I can use it with G1 with M42 to M 4/3 adapter.

    Great shots hakkalo..

After reading one of the other threads here, I couldn't come to a conclusion about whether the RX or non-RX Kern lenses are the ones to go for for m43.

Which are you using, non-RX ?

    Regards,
    Stuart

RX lenses have a non-standard lens-to-sensor distance and may have to be re-collimated to achieve infinity focus. See my Dream Service thread on this forum

Very nice series, thanks! I'm wondering, has anybody had a chance to directly compare the Yvar 75/2.8 and the Macro Switar 75/1.9 - or the 'standard Yvar 150/4 with the Macro 150/3.3?

As far as I know, Macro Switar 75mm F1.9 is more expensive than Yvar 75mm F2.8. 75/1.9 can not cover 35mm film format , but 75/2.8 can.

On the other hand, Macro-Yvar 150/3.3 costs more than Yvar 150/4,but Yvar/4 even can cover 120mm film format.

Oh man, you really have all the lenses in the world I think I asked a similar question before, but could you please comment on what you think of the 150/3.3? I have a 150/4 that should come back from servicing any day now, but I still think about upgrading to the newer version for the extra stop and the macro capability, I'm just not sure that it is worth it, any comments? I'm also surprised to see some vignetting in the picture, is that across the whole range? And finally, when you get a chance, could you please show a macro shot with that lens? Thanks,

    Stefan

Thanks hakkalo, this means I probably will have to spend more money And to go one step further: Are there any differences between the newer preset and the non-present 150/3.3? I like the preset 75mm Macro Switar, so I am leaning toward that one. I'll have to see what the prices are...

I have sent a few lenses for servicing to a gentleman in Pennsylvania. I can't say much about the quality because I am still waiting for them to come back, so what I can say is that it is going veeeery slowly. I didn't mind but now I am anxiously waiting for Yvars, Canon TV-16 lenses, a cine Nikkor 10mm and - most importantly -the Angenieux M1 0.95/25 to come back before I go on a short trip in 10 days...

    Re: G1 with Swiss lenses

I finally got a few shots with my Makro Yvar 150/3.3 in today, just a few minutes between a meeting and dinner...

    By the water

    Diamond Head Honolulu

Here just a quick pic from the same spot with the 20/1.7

    Catching dinner

    Waiting for the sunset

And here are 2 macro shots

I love the lens. It does vignette a bit more than I had hoped, but overall I am very happy. BTW, the pics are all uncropped jpgs, just a bit of auto-sharpening and auto-contrast in Picasa - and all are hand-held, most around F5.6, so I am sure there is a lot more potential in this lens.

I just got a 25mm/2 Kinoptik lens head (without focusing barrel). Once I got it going, I shall post some results and comparisons.

I didn't crop my all my pictures taken with Kern Macro Yvar 150mm f3.3.I found it does vignette more if it set on small aperture.
