    E-P2 EVF --- Excellent!

Just got to play with the E-P2, the EVF is much better than the Panasonic EVF for the GF1, much larger, higher res.

In my few minutes with the camera I got the impression it was about the same as the E-P1, but I have only used the E-P1 for a few test shots here and there, so my input is probably not of any real value...

Hi Robert, where did you get to play with it? Was it a production level camera?

    Cheers

I am told it is pre-production but may be identical to production, if that makes any sense.

It came in for tomorrow/Saturday's big sale here at Precision Camera, Austin TX.

I think you need to send that EP-2 Robert to Terry for testing after the event.

I'll see what strings I can pull with the Oly rep, maybe some Shiner Beer will do the trick

Doing the same myself with the leica folks . LOL

First question is so WHEN do you want the S2 and X1 back. I'm hoping to hold on to the X1 for a couple extra days after I test the S2 but trying to figure out the proper beer solution to this. LOL

Robert, at what focal length would you estimate the viewfinder magnification to be 1x? I'm curious to see how well it would work to shoot with both eyes open with a 40mm or 50mm lens.

We have an S2 here too, but no amount of beer or MoŽt will remove it from my possession.

Thomas, I will try to estimate it for you.

Looks like the max end of the range (42mm) is about life size...

I take it this EVF will not work on the panasonic?

It would be interesting to know how the viewfinder compares to the one on the G1/GH1.

    As I suspected!

I think it will be better than the G1's EVF (barring any image break ups that may happen electronically).

The optics in the Oly EVF appears to be a stellar design.

Thanks Robert. So a Zeiss 45/2 for the Contax G with an adapter could be an interesting choice then.
