Rather Impressed with E-P1 Video Quality

I didn't have particularly high expectations when I bought this camera... at least as far as video output, but I must say that after shooting some sample shots in varying light conditions over the last month I am pretty impressed.

Here is one from a concert with the Canon Serenar 85mm f/2.0 LTM

And with the Canon FD 50mm f/1.4

And here are two from my trip to The City yesterday taken with the 50mm f/1.4 while waiting for the MUNI,

I'd be interested to hear other's observations about video from the E-P1 (and other m43 cameras) as well.

i think it is good too in very contrasty situations like daylight try the auto gradation setting and dial minus 0,3 exposure it will help with burning highlights its only fault

Really good in a nice decorum! Did run into your Earthframes as well. Very nice!

And Devon very nice samples of what the Canon fd 50/1.4 can do. Must be hard to keep in focus, though?

Cheers,
Michiel
It's not too bad to keep in focus, though I haven't done much extended shooting with it. For both those videos I prefocused using the zoomed in view before recording. I think the lens was set to f/2 or f/2.8. The reason they drop in and out of focus was just me playing around seeing what I could do with depth of field while we waited for the train. The concert shot was more difficult as I was in a crowd and I think shooting wide open and couldn't really tell where exact focus was.

I have to say I'm really impressed with the videos I've seen from the E-P1 too, thanks for sharing :)

Uwe may I just ask if you have tried using your 14-140mm Panasonic lens for video on the E-P1? If yes what is it like?

Hey Devon - let's forget the photography and discuss the music.

This band is something else - haven't heard stuff like this since the Beatles in 1962. Have they done a CD?

It's a local band called Rule 5 with some of the members from my high school. As far as I know they haven't released a CD. I passed along your comment though and am sure it will be appreciated.
