    Vivitar 24/2.8 on G1

This lens I got new for $40 @ a shop closing.

I like the close focus it has.

I searched for the f/2 version and won one on eBay but the guy got mixed up with his fittings and sent me a Minolta fit instead of the Nikon I wanted so I sent it back, nice looking lens though. Still looking, I'd say it would be a good standard lens for the G1.

    Thanks Guys.

I normally have a long lens on when out on the property but today opted for the 24mm to specifically shoot the burs I had seen previously with snowflakes on them. However, the wind had removed the snow so I had to make the best of the outing.

BTW Michael, mine is the Minolta mount.

Nice bokeh too. Not buttery smooth but neither is it harsh and swirly.

I have a Sigma 24mm f2.8 but it is not as nice as the Vivitar by the looks of it. I have the Vivitar 55mm macro, which is excellent so I'm not all that surprised to see these great images.
