Good news and bad news same time
While competition is always good, especially when we see Sony (and maybe later Canon) jumping on the mirrorless camera train, I fear that Sony does not take this one too serious (similar as Canon and Nikon will do).
Bad news is that Sony should do their homework in the Alpha FF DSLR line first I guess and bring the next generation of sensors with higher MP count, no AA filter and better DR. As should the others with their top end models. I have a bit the feeling that all these vendors are getting nervous about the latest success of Pana and Oly with the M43 system and the mirrorless concept of DSLR.
Nikon - well this company became so strange in their product to market behavior lately for me that I do not understand their real strategy - other than optimizing their business, which is of course a more than valid decision for them. But WRT innovations this company sucks in my opinion.
On the other side I do have high hopes in Sony, as they might bring some great Carl Zeiss glass for their new system, so that would mean a really interesting competition to Pana and Oly, which already have a lens lineup with great quality.
End of the day - some other new camera systems to choose from, which makes life not really easier, except one starts slowly ignoring all these hypes. Which I am kind of close to
PS1: I miss any really great news during PMA 2010 so far and I fear that not much more will come
PS2: I am actually very happy with my Oly M43 system so far - but never say never again ......
