How long before discarding cleaning fluids

    HI,

I was wondering how long to keep Sensor cleaning fluids before discarding them.

I notice that all chemical liquid products have a shelf life, so how long would you keep on using them for cleaning your sensor?

My lens cleaning fluids (Kodak) Yes still using that product. I notice after about 3 years from purchase date that it smears more, so after 2 years from purchase date I discard properly of course and I replace with a new one.

How about Sensor cleaning solution, open or not open. How long?

Good observation. It depends on the composition of the fluids you use.

If they are Methanol (or alcohol) based, they do tend to take up water being hygroscopic or water soaking and would tend to cause streaks.

The number of times you open the bottle and the humidity would determine that.

In addition, a very small amount would get oxidized, over the time, contributing to the problem.
