I believe it is a Leica R 90mm with R to 4/3 adapter and 4/3 to m4/3 adapter on the camera.

Re: David Pogue on the Panasonic GI

    Hello everyone

I am new to this forum and also new to PANASONIC G1 .
I have that camera since a week (the blue one) but had no chance for good shooting yet , due to bad weather conditions here .

I will get a NOVOFLEX G1 to M-lens adapter still before X-mas and I would like to use my HEXANON lenses from my KONICA RF .

Does anyone know if this will work ? ? ? Has anyone tried that yet ? ? ?

Looking forward to hear your experience .

    Jurgen

    HI Jurgen
    congratulations and welcome.
Mine just arrived today - battery charging, no time t read the manual, but I'll try and take some pictures this afternoon.

I think Brian Mosley is the man to speak about the Hexanon - he's certainly using his with his G1 (you can send him a PM)

    Just this guy you know

    Hi Jurgen,
I didn't know Novoflex made an adapter for Leica M to Pana G1, that's good news. Any info re price and availablity?

As for the Hexanon lenses I see no reason they shouldn't work on the G1 as long as they work on Leica M cameras. I have one myself that I'll try when adapters become available.

Yes, just received a press release today about their new adapter. Text below:

    News from Novoflex
    Adapter for Leica M-lenses in
    MicroFourThirds-Standard
The name Novoflex stands as a synonym for creative trouble-
shooting. A new creation are the adapters for the
MicroFourThirds-Standard, which will expand the company’s
innovative product portfolio from middle of December 2008.
The new MicroFourThirds-Standard, which was presented on
the occasion of photokina 2008 will strongly influence camera
production. Due to the new sensor and bayonet, extremely
compact camera systems will be available in the future. The
best example is the first available MicroFourThirds camera on
the market, the Lumix G1 from Panasonic. But also Olympus
has already presented prototypes of a new camera which will
be available presumably in spring 2009. Further competitors
    will follow definitely.
As one of the first suppliers of photo accessories, Novoflex
reacted to the new demands of the market, launching an
adapter which enables the user to connect Leica M-lenses to
    cameras with MicroFourThirds-Standard. Thus, customers
buying a MicroFourThirds-camera will be able to choose from
a large variety of high-quality lenses.
The adapter provides a high precise correction of the flange
focal length difference and enables focussing to infinity with all
lenses. Moreover, in case of the Lumix G1, automatic exposure
metering via working aperture / aperture priority is possible.

In addition to the adapter for Leica M-lenses, which will be
available from middle of December 2008, other MicroFourThirds-
adapters for Leica R, Nikon, Contax/Yashica, Olympus OM,
Pentax, and – for the first time – Minolta MD lenses are under
development. Market introduction is planned for February 2009.
By the way: Novoflex offers a vast selection of adapters for
nearly every lens-/camera combination. A visit on the website
www.novoflex.de is a real revelation for every amateur or
    professional photographer.
The new MicroFourThirds-Adapter (order code MFT/LEM) will be
available at a price of 149.00 Euro (recommended retail price).
Further information and proofs of delivery from Novoflex
Präzisionstechnik GmbH, Brahmstrasse 7, 87700 Memmingen,
    Germany, Phone +49 83 31 / 8 88 88, E-Mail: [email protected]
or in the Internet under www.novoflex.de.

I wonder if Steve Gandy's will be the same.

I assume it will function the same. I think that the CameraQuest adapter is made in Japan. I have one on order from Stephen. It is also less expensive compared to the Novoflex adapter.

I don't think it will be long before we see Chinese versions on ebay for $30. There are plenty of such adapters for the 4/3s in that price range.
