Hi Jeff,
On bulb the shutter stays open as long as the shutter release is held down.
On T mode, one press opens the shutter, a second press closes it.
A cable release with a locking function works well in bulb mode. In T mode, you don't need to lock it, just press the release button on the remote a second time.
