Fun with 4/3rds cameras/ Image Thread

I think that Olympus is going for more uniformity and microcontrast, while Panasonic put emphasis on sharpness in the center and smoother bokey.
Yes; I actually prefer the more analogue look the Panasonic lenses give me, even though I am getting used to the outcome of my small Pen-F kit (12/17/45/75) that is all Oly. I'm waiting to see what the rumored 1.2 Oly lenses will do and then decide whether or not to add a PL 15/42.5 to the stable to form a PL trio with the 25 and get a more uniform look, or get the rumored 12/25/50 1.2 Zuiko's.

I've never understood people who don't take photos of their lunch :loco:

I’ve seen countless electricity poles ruining a portrait, but a windmill? :p :p
Ow - please stop nitpicking, Ian !
Instead, I'd rather have you commenting on the processing here :lecture:
Somewhere down this thread you mentioned applying C1's negative clarity.
Well, so did I here and to other recent posted images as well.
And so far I like the 'creamy' effect, although it looks a bit odd
Nah, what do you think ?

All the best.

Got a new lens today. The 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6 in 4/3-mount. $350 in mint condition from Japan. Totally sharp from corner to corner at all focal lengths :)

E-M1 with 9-18mm f/4-5.6 4/3 @ 9mm and f/8

Well, I guess I am now fully committed to my GX8 being the heart of my main camera system.

Today, I took delivery of the Lumix 35-100/2.8. I find my 45/2.8 is too short on occasion and I am not going to lug my 100-400 around for urban landscapes. So, I accepted that I probably wouldn't do better as a solution for medium to long telephoto than this lens. I am really surprised at how small and light the lens is.

These are a few test shots.

Wide open at f2.8 and iso400. Definitely shown signs of Leica DNA here, imho.

Same settings as above.

100% crop - good level of detail, imho

I'm not seriously going to use it for birding but she alighted about 15 foot from me and I took advantage. iso1600 100mm 1/125 (cropped)

Another view, pretty much straight out of the camera.

I'll mainly be using the lens to pick architectural detail high up on buildings and probably mostly at f8 where I can. But I have to say even wide open this is a sharp lens.
