Fun with the Olympus E-M1

It's almost like that M240, in the end I canceled my order.
But now I've got the A7r ... :wtf:

All the best.
Yup, I did the same.
Waited for over a year, then cancelled the M240.
But I already had bought a spare battery and charger!
Also, got E-M1, A7R, and drum roll ... 12-40/2.8! :)

Further adventures in a Maui garden.... this time with the 50-200

Hi Kevin,

Nice to see you are still having fun.

You'll never guess, but I'll be out in Cupertino in January and the temptation to take advantage of the exchange rate difference and pick up a 75 1.8 .. is well .. how else can I put it but tempting.

I hit the big 5-0 this year and Big Dave came to visit, I laughed the whole weekend, some things never change.

Well take care and have a good New Year.

Phil.

Oh dear
Well, the A7r is fantastic with R lenses. If I still had my 28-90

Whatever, Bart, the 12-40 is unmissable, even Tim Ashley thinks it's fab.

But I'm not sure you should escape the M240.

Just do it Phil, nobody needs a 150 f2.8, but it is one of the very very best lenses. A joy in every way.

Just crocodile tears ... :p

Well, I'd like to have at least one native lens: the 12-40 should be the one !
And if Tim says it's good, well ... then it must be something special indeed

Ha! I did escape it and no regrets, Jono. But I'm already looking forward to the next iteration

All the very best.

Now I understand why you guys are happy with the A7r (you don't have a proper camera to put those M and R lenses on!). :poke:

Well, I guess my M9 is not a proper camera anymore. Hmm.
I hope for the M360 Leica doesn't invent new batteries.
That might trick me into buying one. :D
And better QA!

Hi There

R lenses are tricky on the M9.( I did say M and R lenses) :p

The M9 is great BUT I still have my M9- sometimes I shoot with it, but I find the less accurate RF and clunky shutter pretty irritating in comparison. (Rather like the A7r in fact!).

Exactly K-H, let's wait for a proper M and meanwhile bide our time with the lovely M9-P.
And having lots of fun with the interesting A7r, while Jono is trying to make up his mind about his next purchase.
Latest rumours has it he is looking into an RX10 ...

:chug:

All the very best.

. . . . . . and a Nikon Df - lots of nice cameras around (just not the boring old A7r). I'm not going to get an RX10 - but I do think it's interesting, and I'd love to play with one.

Hmm. I thought this was "fun with the E-M1", not "fun with everything I can suffer spending money on..." ;-)

please Jono, tell me if you find a Df (or perhaps a D600) more interesting than a E-M1...
thorkil
Frankly, I find that Df rather interesting
And it comes in silver chrome too ...

:dh2: :deadhorse: :dh2:

All the best.

A rookie question here.....

How does one make a decision between the E-M1 and the Pentax K-3? They seem so close in so many ways, yet so different. This is probably the topic of a different thread and so I apologize to the moderator for introducing the topic here.
