    Cool entries guys !
I really can't find a correct way to handle the raw files of this cam. Tried Irident Dev., Olympus Viewer 3 and Lightroom (that can now read those files). The camera jpegs (I-enhanced mode) are always better that my own post-prod. So I stick with the jpg mode for the moment. Here some samples using the monochrome and red filter effect (+ slight Lightroom post prod):

Shoot RAW+JPG until you get the RAW post production figured out. That way you have something to compare to.

Re: Fun with the Digital Pen-F

This is what I do and I can't get the same pop in color and contrast from Lightroom without bad side effects starting to show up.
Just tried again today and found the out of cam jpeg better again. This cam is my 2nd body for casual shooting so I'm happy with that in fact.
I also tested the High Res option in raw and jpg.
Even with contrast & sharpness set very low, the OV3 files show more artefacts than the jpg. However when downscaled to the jpg size (10000 for the raw -> 8500 pix wide for the jpg) they are quite the same.
A 240dpi 30" large print should be nice and maybe the max size I would use according to my taste.

    Here's my test scene:

    and a 100% crop:

Don't want to criticizes, this is quite amazing for such a tiny and reasonabily priced camera.

Another test comparing a multishot file with a single shot upscaled with photoshop. Even if there is better upscaling options than photoshop the comparison shows the benefit of the High Res option.
The High Res shot has not been sharpened much, artefacts are a limiting factor.

    The full scene:

100% crop from the single shot file upscaled to the High res file:

100% crop from the multishot file developed in OV3:

Really like this little cam + Zuiko lenses combo so far. The Olympus color & the clarity of the glass makes me wonder why so many people are buying Sony Alpha products

There are benefits to the Sony Alpha. All cameras now have their pros and cons.

Question: are these JPEGS out of the camera or edited from RAW? The tone and color is pretty good.

    Thanks for posting.

Re: Fun with the Digital Pen-F

Lovely images anGy. I would be interested to learn which of the mZuiko lenses you used for these images on the PenF?
I would also be interested to know which A class car you were photographing; the A45 perhaps? I drive a GLA220AMG at the moment.
The Amateur Photographer in this week's issue rated the Pen F with 5 stars and summarised by writing that whilst there other cameras with better specifications for less money, none can provide the sheer pleasure and creativity that the little Pen F provides. They also say that the Pen F works well with the 1.8 small prime mZuiko lenses.
On a sadder note, we are horrified at the tragic consequences of yesterday's terrorist attacks in your country. I note that you come from close to Brussels so I hope that no person you know were caught up in the disaster.
    Cheers, Dave

Re: Fun with the Digital Pen-F

I used a Sony A7R then a A7II and an A7RII after that. My quest ended there with Sony. The pixel quality of these bodies is far superior to the m43 sensors of course but the overall tones and color rendition have never been for me. It took a serious while to realize that. As a medium format user I though it was due to the fact I was comparing the Sony's with my Leica S but no, the Olympus Pen F is closer to the look I like and clearly satisfies me better than the Sony Alpha series. The Pen F proves to me that it is possible to spend a lot less money on equipment and nevertheless get artistic qualities I like to see in my pictures.
It's easy to get lost in all the photo equipment offering these days. Companies like Leica, Olympus, Pentax do have an 'heritage' that set them apart than other makers maybe too busy to run after the 'best tech spec' race.

These are in camera jpg files with iEnhanced mode + contrast and sharpness set to -1. I then open them in Lightroom and work to taste, but nothing important.
(the in body jpeg conversion is excellent. I can't do better from raw in Lightroom, still have to work on it).

Re: Fun with the Digital Pen-F

    Hi Dave,
Thank you, horrible day yesterday. 1st Time my country faced terrorist attacks on its ground (my son had to take the metro with its school yesterday, they were stopped 5 min before leaving due to the airport attack, they would have normally used the same line where the metro attack took place half an hour later...).
    Anyway....
I'm using the zuiko 17mm and 45mm f1,8. Great little lenses, perfect match with the Pen F.
The A Class is a special serie with mate grey body paint and AMG line but it's not the A45 engine.

Nocticron is such a great lens. Are these JPEGS out of camera or from RAW? Really good tonality here (in great part thanks to that lens).
