Reading Thom Hogan and the other recent review, both of which are done after sustained use, makes me want to go and try some of the advanced features that I haven't bothered with. I got my M1.2 after seeing the hand-held cinematography done with a pair of them which accompanied a Ming Thein article about a dark and crowded Hindu festival. It has lived up to its reputation as a stabilized hand-held camera in a couple of outings of 4K video, but I think I am getting richer color and better shadow detail using my SL with TL lenses. Just for fun, I might try to set up a comparison. I like Hogan's bottom line -- he feels the M1.2 is the most complete lightweight solution available for long back-country trips, with only one or a few lenses.
A curious thing. Although 1080P video is usually done using the full frame of a camera, the 2X higher spatial resolution of 4K is more often derived from the "Super 35" region of the chip, which is slightly smaller than APS-C. So M43, which is only slightly smaller than this and throws all 20 MP into service, may not be at much of a disadvantage, compared to my effectively 10 MPx SL when shooting 4K.
