I also want to know which adapter you bought. I would prefer a single adapter, but the Rayqual is pricey (>$190) and the other single adapters are unknown to me in quality. This leaves the two adapter solution form Jinfinance.

Did you play with the defocus control with live view on the 105DC?

I like the 45 picture (I have one as well); it will be interesting to have a pancake be a portrait length equivalent :-).

I have the adapters from jinfinance. They are good quality and those two lenses focus just past infinity.

I did not have time to try DC function but it is high on my priority list. Using the 45 as a portait lens was my plan. It should be good for that.

I opted for this combination. Works fine for my Nikkor lenses.

having OM and FD lenses I'm tempted by this two piece derangement, it might work out cheaper than multiple adaptors.

I'm thinking I'll give it a go, but the issue for me is that right now I only have OM and FD ... and I also have an FD adaptor from Ceicio7

afaik, the fd lenses only work w/ the single adapter arrangement.

I believe the FD adapter is a separate unit and one piece.

Thanks. Its a lot of fun playing with lenses on the G1. Really makes me want to go buy some true manual focus glass just for the feel of it.

    Great shots!

I recently got a Rayqual Nikon F adapter for my G1, but here's why I got the G1 in the first place ...

Right, so have you any comments on how these fare on a G1 vs on an M8?

It would be also interesting to see future comparisons between an EP-1 with 17mm and the M8 with say the 28mm.

Not having an M8, I can't comment on the comparison. I am, however, very much enjoying using the G1 with my M lenses.

Thumbs up Re: adapters for G1 arrived

Thanks for sharing. My G1 arrived last night, and now I cannot wait for my adapter (which is one reason I got the G1). Lenses I am going to try:

    20 f3.5 (plus a k1 extension ring :-) )
    28 f2
    35 f2
    45 f2.8
    105 f2.5
    75-150 f3.5
    200 f4
    105 f4 macro
    sigma 105 f2.8 macro

    various extension rings

    Fun ahead

A couple from the makinon 500 reflex I purchased today at the local used dealer. Also got an Oly 28mm but ran out of time to play with it.

Not looking for anything great from this lens. Just after that mirror lens character and reach. These were handheld at 1/60th and 1/200 respectively.

Is there a reason why there is no Contax/Zeiss adapter for G1 available? Thanks.

for the FD-G1 adapter... I was not aware of this blog... (although I provided a sample to Chris :-)

the infinity issue could be solved by simply tightening the 3 small (philips?) screws on the lens side of the adapter... You should be able to tighten them by 3/4 to 1 turns... (note it's important to tighten all of the 3)... and that should make the difference...

Actually, I have difficulty to access that blog page... can you post this comment for me, Dr. :-)

    Thanks again...

According to RJ of Jinfinance/RJ Camera in Shanghai, he is "working on a few last 'stronghold' :-) (Contax G to m4/3 and Nikon S / Contax RF to m4/3 etc...) ..". It is great news for the owners of excellent Contax G lenses. With the new lens mount adapter, we will be able to use Contax G lenses on micro 4/3 carmeras. In addition, RJ is working on the mount adapter for Nikon S/Contax RF lenses to micro 4/3 cameras as well. I do not know any further details at this time, however, it might be in the near future that we will be able to use some of these legendary lenses on micro 4/3 cameras. RJ of Jinfinance is an eBayer. Best regards, Leica 77

My RJ adapters are working well and will purchase from RJ again when needed.

Another attempt with the same setup as above. I think I was able to get a little more detail this time.

PS. Glad to hear that your adapters from RJ are working well. I am looking forward to getting the Contax G to micro 4/3 adapter from RJ when it is ready.

I will try to get the full moon shoot too. Hopefully my telescope adapters show up soon.

Yesterday I wasn't thinking and picked up the G1 + 80-400 setup by the body. When it finally sunk in what I had done I was amazed that the adapters showed no signs of give and that the mount didn't fall off the G1.

Thanks for the update on the Novoflex adapter. So far I have no complaints with my current adapter setup. Using some of my Nikon glass is fun but I find myself using and enjoying the OM primes much more.
