Potential Hyperfocal Workaround for EP1

Ideally, a future firmware update will give us a manual focus scale display. In the meantime, the following might work.

Let's say one is working with the following,
- the 17mm pancake lens
- f/8
- external optical viewfinder
- wants to focus at 10ft

Here is how the camera can be setup,
- AEL/AFL button set to S-AF (no MF)
- Lens reset to Off
- Use AEL/AFL button to focus on something 10ft away
- Turn off LCD

This way, the camera should be very quick for "street shooting".

Have you found a better way? If so, please share. Manual lens is, of course, another option.

So will this disconnect AF? Otherwise on release the
camera will hunt.....
I will try it later with the zoomie @ 28mm and the
Voigtlander finder.....

With AF assigned to AEL/AFL, it appears to me that shutter lag is minimal. In other words, when the shutter button is fully pressed, the camera does not try to AF again.

I'm doing the opposite. I have lens reset on so I know at startup I have infinity focus. Still there needs to be a better way for both Pen and G1
