    Goodbye Kodak Slide Films

    see here:

Kodak discontinues colour reversal films, puts an end to a 77-year heritage - British Journal of Photography

I spent about 25 years using these (though I stopped maybe 15 years ago) and this makes me sad.

Goodby Ektachrome - we had a good time, you were part of my life........

Aw, crap. Just when I was thinking that E100G might be a long term poor man's replacement for E200.

I used Kodachrome II as well, but I see no reason to miss it. There are much better films around now anyway. Kodak Ektar 100 is one. I can't really see the need for chromes anymore since most films are scanned nowadays anyway.

It is very a pity,E100G was the closest to me after the cessation of AGFA RSX 100.

I liked the look; even Kodachrome-X had its charms in the right application. And I donít think that Ektachrome would have ever reached the acutance of the Kodachromes.

Reversal film still scans with less noise than negative film, to my knowledge.

But, I have only one remaining film camera (the estimable Pentax Espio Mini) and havenít raised that in anger for more than 5 years.
