Good stuff, Steve. Love the look of the film, and the 25 (one of my favorite lenses) give just the right perspective. Nice.

Don't remember the film speed or type, but I think it was Tri-X. Shot with M6 and Nikkor 105/2.5 ltm. Sunshine State Games water polo. Processed a bit in SFX2. Couple of shots of some of the guys listening to the coach after a victory.

Just scanned a roll of Portra 160 that I shot with my M2 and Canon 50 f/1.4 LTM. I like this lens for bright, sunny days because of its low contrast.

M6, some shot with Nikkor ltm 105/2.5 or 85/2, or an old Canon ltm 35/1.8. The last photo is my 12 year old getting his hands wrapped before boxing.

Re: How about more and more fun with Leica M? (Film)

These are a few shots from an adoption I did a few months ago. The bio mom had a few medical conditions which require the baby to be on medication for at least a year. Twenty years ago, the bio mom was shot, beaten in the head with a baseball bat, and then stuffed into the trunk of a car prior to the car being pushed into a lake. Luckily she was saved but there was brain injury.

The adoptive mom is a German Baptist, someone who could not be farther away in lifestyle than the bio mom. Yet, the two women, the bio mom and adoptive mom bonded like they were old friends.

I didn't want to show faces because of privacy concerns.

Shot with an M6 and either the 50/1.4 lux or 85/2.0. Who can remember such details?

Ceh and Jorgen, thank you. Jorgen, I have the negatives at the office. I will check. I scanned them on the 9000 and then fiddled with them a bit in SFX2. I resized them and unsharpened them in an older version of Elements.

Ceh, even though you don't have any Leica gear, you just can't stay away!!!!

Re: How about more and more fun with Leica M? (Film)

Jorgen - Tri X pushed to 800. My scanning is hit or miss but with SFX2 I can do a lot more than I otherwise could with LR4 or 5. I still haven't sent these to the adoptive mom because I have more to scan and want to send them at once.

Re: How about more and more fun with Leica M? (Film)

I was digging through the archives this morning and decided to scan a few of these from BKK and Phnom Pehn from 2002. Most of the shots are Kodachrome and scanned with the Nikon Coolscan 9000. If I didn't like the colors of the scans I converted them to black and white. I had a Leica M6 and 50/1.4 and a Nikon N70 with a lens that I no longer remember. I fiddled with some of the colors in VSCO as well. The photo from the hotel room and the ultra green field were shot in Cambodia, as was the shot of the skulls. The others were all in BKK.

Thank you Cindy for your kind words, they are always appreciated.

In your series above there appears to be only Union Soldiers at the battle, do you have another series with the Confederate soldiers? It does look like a fun event to photograph.

Besides the ships that pass through the locks there are also trains that pass in-bound and outbound from Seattle heading North.

Re: How about more and more fun with Leica M? (Film)

Dan, Thank you for your support!
We just spent a week in upper Michigan and went through the Soo locks on both the American and Canadian side. It was fun and interesting.

These photos are from the morning skirmish. The battlefield is a long walk from the parking lot, so I didn't take all of my gear out. In the morning, I took my M2 with the 50mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH and my M9 with the Canon 135 f/3.5. In the afternoon, I switched to my Sony A99 and Zeiss 24-70 zoom for the battle. You can view a slideshow of the mixed photos here:The Battle of Chickamauga- Wade House 2013 Photo Gallery by Cindy Flood at pbase.com

Some years, I have converted all of my battle photos to black and white or sepia, but this year I left some in color.

Re: How about more and more fun with Leica M? (Film)

Cindy, thanks for the Link to the remaining photographs from the set, I really enjoyed them all. The color photographs worked well for me along with the B&W. There were many favorites in the group of 35, the portraits #15, and David Rambow, B&W man on horseback #8, Color men on horseback #9, Color Confederate Soldiers Marching #11, Color of canon firing #4, . . . . . . I guess I like them all.

    Well done!

    Dan,
Thanks for checking out my re-enactment photos.

I like these photos of your fall walk. I really like the barn. Portra is my favorite film, and I like the close-up detail that you got with the 50.
