Revolutionary, concept camera from Leica.

Actually would be great for those traveling or doing missions in Africa and poorer sections of Central and South America.

The ability to give the gift of a picture to many would be priceless.

Otherwise just an Instagram without the Web device.

Everything hinges on how good the film is and just how archival it is.

Shame it does not give a negative along with the print in BW ... like the polaroid used to do.

This is just Fuji Instax - the camera is an Instax Mini 90 in disguise, the film is Fuji Instax Mini film, but with both camera and film prices marked way up for the Leica brand.

The Instax film has excellent stability as instant print material goes - probably as good as integral instant film has ever been, and far better than Impossible Project film in that respect. But it's fairly unforgiving - pretty contrasty, narrow exposure latitude, a tendency toward a bluish rendering under daylight. In my limited experience so far with a Mini 90 and a Wide 300, I'd say that these cameras seem to be optimized for party snapshots at reasonably close range with flash.

Many have a mobile phone and soon all the old iphones will end up there. You can "air drop" your gifts if your camera is suitably equipped.

As Oren points out, it is Fuji instax!
