Film cleaners/wipes - which is the safest?

I've some pretty rare and very dirty negs/slides that could do with a wipe.

I read about PEC-12 as being recommended BUT is it safe?

I'd hate to destroy/damage these images and wonder what you guys use.

    Thank you

The best film cleaner was the Kodak film cleaner. It is no longer available in North America because the chemical in it was banned from manufacture (ozone deflection?). You may be able to find some in your country though. It came in a brown bottle with the yellow Kodak label.

Here is the Kodak site suggesting alternatives.

Ctien has recommended PEC-12- paste this into your browser:

---discusses PEC-12 and PEC pads on p. 94-95.
