New Mamiya ZD Digital Back Adapter for RB67 Pro-S/Pro-SD

April 16, 2008 – Elmsford, NY – Mamiya introduced the ProSD Adapter HX702, allowing the use of the Mamiya ZD 22-megapixel Digital Back on Mamiya RB67 Pro-S and Pro-SD medium format cameras.

“Mamiya continues to provide high-performance digital backs, at reasonable prices, to loyal Mamiya owners,” states Jeff Karp, Mamiya Product Marketing Manager. “With the introduction of the RB67 ProSD Adapter, we’re opening the digital world to a large number of photographers who invested in RB67 equipment.”

The Mamiya RB67 ProSD ZD adapter attaches the Mamiya ZD Digital Back onto the Mamiya RB67 Pro-S/Pro-SD cameras. This adapter transforms a Mamiya RB67 film camera into a 22-megapixel camera capable of brilliant, high-quality images. This rugged aluminum adapter has the revolving mechanism built-in, retaining the RB67's unique feature of switching between vertical and horizontal with simple one-touch action.

To provide interfacing between the Mamiya ZD Digital Back and Mamiya RB67 camera body, the communication cable must be plugged into the lens flash sync terminal. To connect the camera to electronic strobe equipment, the adapter has been equipped with an auxiliary flash sync terminal.

The included cable release is required to insure proper synchronization between the lens and ZD Digital Back. Although famous worldwide for professional film use, the RB-67, along with the RB67 ZD Back adapter, brings the RB67 Pro-S/Pro-SD cameras into the world of digital photography. It’s the ideal combination for studio or outdoor use.

The adapter will be available May 2008.

THat is good news for the whole field as it keeps the competition going. Interesting that the quote came from Jeff Karp who used to be a Rollei dealer and I can say I hope he does a better job working for Mamiya.
