Get DPI Winter Workshop, 2011!

Hi All,

We wanted to announce our new and upcoming Winter Workshop.

Venue: South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Sedona Arizona! (As usual, we have some special GetDPI side locations planned along the route for your photographic enjoyment!)

Dates: February 8th through 13th 2011 (Our goal is to have snow-capped peaks as backdrops for our images, hence this timeframe for this region!)

Particulars: We will pick you up at the baggage claim area at Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix, AZ. Our goal is to be able to depart there as early as possible on the 8th, preferably no later than 10:30 AM and hopefully earlier, depending on actual participant flight schedules. From there we will drive you up to the Grand Canyon where we will stay for two nights at the famous “El Tovar” Hotel (http://www.grandcanyonlodges.com/el-tovar-409.html), which sits in the park overlooking the South Rim.

After two days of photographing the Grand Canyon overlooks and surrounding area, we will drive up to Monument Valley where we will stay in the only lodge actually inside the park, the relatively new “View Hotel” (http://www.monumentvalleyview.com/theViewHotel/history.html). This hotel offers stunning valley views right from your own deck! The patio outside the dining room and bar also offers stunning morning and evening views. We will shoot here for 2 days, guiding you through the inner reaches of Monument Valley. Depending on conditions, we may also try to photograph some interesting special (secret!) features found in the surrounding area.

After our last morning in Monument Valley, we will head for Sedona, where we will spend our last evening together at the Inn of Sedona (http://www.innofsedona.com/index.html). This hotel is located a few minutes outside of the main downtown area, but is located up on a hill and offers incredible views of the Sedona area from its patios as well!

Meals included!: We tend to eat two larger meals each day on our workshops. Usually this will be a later breakfast around 9:30 after our morning shoot, then a later dinner, usually around 7:30 after our evening shoot. The cost of these meals IS included in your workshop fee! (Alcoholic beverages are not included.)

Local transportation included!: Guy and Jack will be your personal drivers and will pick you up at the airport in Phoenix, drive you to all our shooting destinations, and return you to Sky Harbor airport by Noon on February 13th. You will not need a car!

Lodging included!: Included in the workshop fee is your own private room for 2 nights at the El Tovar, 2 nights at the View Hotel and 1 night at the Inn of Sedona. Rooms will be deluxe view rooms with either one or two Queen beds or One King bed. We will make all of the lodging arrangements so all you have to do is show up and take pictures!

Limitations: We have to limit this workshop to 6 participants due to transportation constraints.

Cost for this workshop is $3,895 per person, single occupancy.

We like to thank you for your continued support of GetDPI workshops and forums and wish you the best of the Holidays. Sincerely Jack and Guy

Please contact Jack via email ([email protected]) to reserve your space.

And we are planning on taking you to a few of our "secret" spots ;)

This image is a total cliche, but it is the view from the rooms we stay in while in Monument Valley:

I'm reading Jacks original post and something was not clear in his original comment. Just a FYI we have hired a Indian Guide for the full day on the 11th to guide us through all the secret hidden spots in Monument Valley which are quite spectacular.

Last call before we close this workshop at the end of the week Sunday Dec 26th. We currently only have 1 spot available in our vehicles.

Workshop is FULL. We can put you on a wait list in case someone has to cancel. Thanks to all who expressed interest!
