135mm STF

Maybe I'm mad, but I have just ordered this somewhat esoteric lens. Hopefully, if Warehouseexpress has received stock, I should receive it next week.

I had intended to buy a 135mm Zeiss, but as I already have the 85mm F1.4, I decided on a different course.... I realise it has no autofocus and it will probably a bugga to use correctly, but there we are.

As and when it arrives, and I have taken some shots, I'll report back. It will, of course, be used on the A900.

I look forward to reading your thoughts. Should be something else for portraits.

Lens has just arrived :) Will take a few sample shots, but I won't have the opportunity for a real test for a few days.

It is an intriguing alternative to the 135mm F1.8 Zeiss. My first impressions are very positive.

Quentin,

I really enjoy the STF. As all know, I'm a bokeh freak and the possibilties with this lens are vast. You can create the smoothest background of any yet if you want some texture, it's available. I'd like to shoot the non STF setting against the ZA 135. If there was focus confirmation this thing would be perfect even with old eyes.
