I've been stitching for a long time and frequently take large batches of shots just so I can stitch and crop later in post. It had become a habit with the Sigma SDx cameras because of their 1.7 crop factor.
I've found that I don't do it as much with the Sony because the natural fov seems to necessitate it less. However, it still seems like a viable technique for wide angle shots as long as there isn't something like ocean waves or other moving objects that are hard to match up when stitching.
Just curious as to whether anyone else does this often or not.
