    Thoughtful pics of fauna...

Any camera/lens, any type of fauna (flying, running, swimming, or just standing there...), any place (wildlife, Zoo, pets, ...).

Photos of suffering, abused or dead fauna are strongly discouraged... (an exception could be dead insects that don't look dead).

Nice theme Darin, thanks for starting it.

One question, can you explain "thoughtful" a bit further? Does the picture have to be thoughtful or the animal, or both?

    A first try:

The goal is for the pictures to be thoughtful, not just simple snapshots

Actually, it’s my sister-in-law’s cat named Spike.
Shot this with a 250mm lens as I’m rather allergic to cats ...

That's too bad. You don't know what you're missing.

    A thoughtful Ibis.

This one is thinking ' I wonder what that rumbling sound is from beneath my feet'.

It's a fresco on the wall of a villa in Pompeii.

Nearly 2000 years old, tho' the feather detail is perhaps not up to the standard one is used to seeing hereabouts.

(Now safely on display at the Naples Archaeological Museum.)
