I own this superb lens... It's optics are the best now with that BR element.
The images are 100% usable at f1.4.
Great lens, I recommend it!

This is a rocking lens. A big improvement over the v1 L. I've actually used it for a few product image lately and it's really great there too - with no visible distortion even close up. I shoot a lot of product with the 24 t/s-e and the floating elements in that also introduce some weird distortions when used near minimum focus distance. Not with this new 35mm. Might be my new favorite. Canon now needs to bring this optical technology to a new version of the old 35mm t/s. How great would that be!

Here's a shot I did for Riva Audio this week. This speaker is about the size of a loaf of bread. There are 23 focus slices in this one.
