I am planning a trip to NH this year in October. Can somebody recommend locations, places and a central location to lodge and visit all the locations
( not expensive). I have heard of White mountains, any motels nearby.
I appreciate all information.

Thanks

North Conway is a good place to stay, as things you may want to see are central to this town. Try the Red Jacket Inn, its a great place to stay. Mt. Washington and the Mt Washington Inn where DPI is having their trip is not far from here as well. You will also be close to the Kangamangus Highway, which is a must for fall foliage shots.

Fall colors begin at the north end of the state and move south over two to three weeks, including "peak" which lasts only two or three days. I live in the center-west Lake Sunapee area and last year's "leaf peeping" began Oct. 8, give or take a day or two. It was a spectacular two weeks. Even the old timers were remarking about it.

NH is a relatively small state, but getting to "all locations" from one place could mean most of your day on the road.

This is a great resource for fall colors throughout New England: http://www.yankeefoliage.com/live-fall-foliage-map/

This is an outstanding resource for New Hampshire in general: http://www.visit-newhampshire.com/index.html

Here you can get current weather and environment for the Lake Sunapee area: http://sunacom.com/weather_rapidfire.html

And current gas prices: http://sunacom.com/gas.html
