I was getting a bit depressed reading some of the rather negative comments in the X-Pro1 thread, so and I meandered over to this thread, and suddenly felt a lot better. Thank you everyone for posting such great images and putting things in perspective. Much better than reading endless aimless equipment comparisons and conjecture....

but how many people actually have the X-Pro1 in their hands???

not convinced on that, to be honest, but the x100 is brilliant once you understand how it works and its quirks.

i got one for things it does well, not things i wanted it to do... it's really quite brilliant!

Hi Cam! Lovely to see you here!!

The X100 plays very well with Silver Efex Pro 2, so well, I'm going to buy the demo version I downloaded. Here's a few shots from the X100-SFX combo:

You got that right. Mine is an absolute keeper. Just have to avoid large quantities of bright lights straight into the lens due to reflections off the sensor. Other than that, the camera is freaking amazing!

Agree. This thread had some wonderful images and contributors, but for some reason it just doesn't have the impact I remember.

It must've been months, since I posted in this thread.
Was shooting film almost exclusively, but the X100 is still working!

    Very nice stuff from everybody!
Retow, great processing and that third shot is really marvellous!

Re: X100 images thread...let's get this party started....

Hi all. I have been following this thread for a while. Amazing stuff here. I never posted anything since I seem to be using the Nex7 more and more lately.. I decided to share an image I took today. I finally decided to go out with my X100, but then...... This image is the last one I took before my X100 developed (all of a sudden) the sticky aperture blade syndrome. It was working fine, I was doing some long exposures @ f/8 - f/11, took this image, and when I tried to take the next image the blades wouldn´t close, they are now stuck at f/2..

I was under the impression that the blades would start malfunctioning gradually, and not just from one shot to the next one...

Hope it will be back soon, I have enjoyed it much and will miss it while it´s being repaired.

The last image untill it comes back..

And a great image it is. Since I bought my X-Pro 1 a month ago the X100 has been neglected and it must have felt lonely and really cross with me as when I tried it a couple of days ago it had sticky aperture. The 2nd time I have had it, hopefully will be fixed for good this time. I think the newer lens units are supposed to be SAB-free. I will need to keep using it once a week to 'keep an eye' on it!

Re: X100 images thread...let's get this party started....

Hi again. Surprisingly my X100 decided to come back to life yesterday and operated flawlessly all day. I managed to pull a couple more images from it but now I am at al lost regarding what to do: shall I wait until the problem happens again or shall I just take it in now? I am concerned that the Fuji guys won´t be able to replicate the issue and just send it back as is. Is the SAB issue an intermitent one? I thought once the blades were stuck they were so for good...

A couple images from my (resurrected) X100 yesterday:

Today I purchased a Phottix Variable (up to 8 stops) ND filter. I have been trying it out today and must say that it worked perfectly, no issues at all (despite some people telling me that they were no good for photography, only suitable for video). I used it stacked on top of the B+W 10 stop filter to give me 18 stops of filtration. Here a 7 minute exposure with the mentioned setup.

    Great images E.!

My GF's brother had his wedding yesterday and we spent a great day.
I was guest, but was asked to document a little.
Only took the X100 and nearly never missed another focal length.

Wonderful shots Erik, the camera looks like it is doing it's bit, but I figure your eye and processing/presenting skills are what is making the images look well above the bar. Not taking anything away from the camera, it is superb by all accounts, but credit where it is due as well.
I am soaking up all these threads, tossing the "will I buy the Fuji or not urge" about. The X-Pro is where I am headed, but the Fuji line in general, with the X-100 proving to be extremely well regarded. I cannot get over how good the images all are, truly impressive.

    So many great shots here!
I jus got my X-100, getting used to it. It feels very good, sharpness and detail are convincing indeed. A couple of examples. Minor adjustment of exposure in Aperture, BW conversion is done in Silver Efex Pro.

    Gary,

Thanks for your very kind words. Trust me, this camera IS something else. I am doing my first attempts at long exposure with my Nex-7, and even when I love the camera and it has an amazing IQ, don´t get me wrong, I am having trouble getting images I am fully satisfied with, probably due to the fact that the files are vastly different and require such a completely different post-processing. I am still trying to figure out the workflow for the Nex, but the files just seem to "fall into place" with the Fuji. This may all very well be completely subjective, or maybe it´s just because I have been using the Fuji longer. I just adore this little camera...

Thanks for watching and please keep the lovely images coming everybody.

    Erik.

    Erik.

Super stuff. I can't compete. I would try to contribute more but don't seem to have the time and my X-Pro 1 demands attention. Having said that I have had my X100 back from its 2nd fix for sticky apertures and is sitting on the table looking at me longingly. The X-Pro is nice but the X100 is a true classic!
