Re: Fun with the Fuji X ___!

Just received the Fujifilm teleconverter for the X100V (TCL-X100 II) that converts the 23mm lens to 33mm (equiv. 50mm). I already had the WCL that I used previously on my X100F. Sold the X100F and kept the WCL that gives a 28mm equiv focal length on the X100V. Here are a few quick hand held snaps with the TCL on the X100V, all shot wide open at f/2.0. Two shots of indoor house plants and a couple through windows of outdoor plants.
First here is the X100V with TCL attached:

A couple of panos and a little beach plant taken on a stroll along north bay at Taughannock Point on Cayuga Lake. X100V. The structure on the east shore horizon (visible in the larger view of second image below) is the Miliken Station coal fired power plant that uses deep lake water for cooling.

I'm having fun with the X-T3 and XF 80/2.8. I'm able to get close enough to these animals to be able to use it, especially as the best time to capture them is around dusk when the light levels are very low.

Re: Fun with the Fuji X ___!

The damned XF 100-400 was on sale. Grrrr. So of course, out comes the cat. Now, this is 400mm. Those are real millimeters, not effective mm (that would be 600mm as we're in APS-C land). OK? 400mm. So we go SEVEN stops down to one-third of a second. Hand held. Almost sharp. Some help from Topaz Sharpen AI..

Now I'm going to go out and isolate some seagulls against distant buildings. Or something .... It's an XH-1, so not the best action AF. We'll see...

Re: Fun with the Fuji X ___!

Another fox cub capture. This is probably my best so far. I am really impressed with using the XF 80/2.8 as a short telephoto. I'm about 3 metres from the cub largely hidden behind a heavily overgrown fence. The cub probably knows I am there but he is now familiar with me and for short periods of time will give me the benefit of the doubt before scampering back into a fox run which gives him safety.

Re: Fun with the Fuji X ___!

I have acquired a secondhand XF50-140/2.8 - mainly for wildlife, although it may find its way into other projects I am working on. This is one sharp lens, even wide open. I was expecting it to be heavier, given that some people complain about the weight but I'm pleasantly surprised at how light it feels. I also have the TC1.4x which came with the 100-400, so if needs be I can extend the range even if it is at the expense of an f-stop.
