SOLD: Canon 300mm f/4.0 L IS

Essentially like new in box, Canon 300mm f/4.0 L IS (Image Stabilized) lens. Very nice! Includes tripod collar, case and box materials. There are a couple of very minor smudges in the rubber around the hood, but otherwise it's pristine.

A friend bought my Canon bodies and some lenses, but I kept a few as I plan to replace the bodies at some point. Still undecided on how to proceed with my Canon kit while I'm concentrating on medium format, so will sell and figure it out later.

Price: $995 shipped to the lower 48 U.S. (a bit extra for shipping to AK and HI). PayPal is fine; pay as gift with no fee, or add 3% for credit card. Checks OK too, but funds must fully clear. PayPal address should be confirmed, etc.

Local inspection and pick-up for cash is fine, or meet within reasonable distance (I'm in northern CA).

Adding date code for those interested: UT1208. Purchased new in mid or late 2006.

This is a very sharp lens with lovely OOF characteristics. Not as thin DoF as the f/2.8, but far smaller and lighter, not to mention much less expensive. A great choice for butterflies and similar nature stuff too, esp. with an extension tube. The IS makes it ideal.

I forgot to mention that the lens includes a very nice zippered Canon case made specifically for this lens. The case is as brand new.

Also, I was asked via PM if the lens included the hood. This model lens has the hood built in as an integral component. The barrel slides forward and twists. It's very nice and much easier to deal with than removable hoods.
