    B+W IR cut filter type 486 or 489?

    Which type filter is the most suitable for the M8?

    Such filters are being sold now at much lower costs. Must be new M9 owners who don't need such filtets anymore.

    486 is probably best because it filters both uv & IR vs 489 IR only. Given the weakness of the filter glass on the M8 I would cover your bases with the 486 otherwise youre susceptible to uv contamination.

    I always used 486 filters from B+W or heliopan and both worked well.
