    WTB: Summilux 35mm AA

Have been looking for a decent copy of the infamous Summilux 35mm AA. I know there are copies available on the auction site but at a ridiculous price. Anyone is willing to part with his/her at a reasonable price please let me know. Much appreciated.

Exactly which model do you refer to? #11870? And if so, what do you consider an acceptable price range? Also what country do you live in?

He's talking about the rare double Aspherical, not the one you are referring to.

The Leica 35 Summilux Double ASPHERICAL (AA) Lens Review – A Classic full of Magic! | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS

These go for well over $10k on ebay.

Wow, for a beginner that's impressive. Heck I could sell him something a beginner could use for one third that number and he still could be using it 30 years from now. Thanks for the link, so I guess there are now 2 of us looking to pick up one of these. Sorry Lee.

You guys are killing me. I just like to use "beginner" to stay humble amounts all you experts here. I really don't think I am a beginner anymore. Just not happy with the summicron and like the Bokeh better with the AA than the FLE. I know how much this lens goes for but the ebay ones are from dealers that has to make a profit margin. Ned is very reasonable in his price (obviously depends on what comes with the lens) but decided not to let his go, arrrrrh.

You owe me one Ned-I pushed him over the fence to your side. Now it is me who is sitting on the fence.

Because as soon as I saw Ned's post, I pm'ed him but he decided not to sell. I did mention being back on the hunt after that. So I am still looking for one unless Ned changes his mind

I was never going to sell this lens until I saw this post. I had a slight momentary weakness but I had to slap myself out of it. I'm really sorry to have caused this.

I noticed there are plenty on ebay. I'm sure that a decent offer to one of the sellers can end up positively.

I had a similar moment of weakness last night. Consulted my wife (of all people). Luckily (for me) she was a sensible woman at that moment and said "Keep it"

Such a rare lens, in the league with the f1.2 Noctilux.

Have you contacted some of the bigger vendors, like Camera West or Leicashop (in Germany) to keep an eye out for you?

    Re: WTB: Summilux 35mm AA

Thanks for the advice, I am looking all over. Obviously there are copies out there up for grabs but I don't want to, or can't afford, to pay premium. I much rather buy from owner than through a dealer. Just want a working copy so that I can use it. A collector condition copy would be nice at the right price but I really just want to use it without worrying that it get dirty.

Great, rubbing salt on wound when I still cannot find one that is in my price range. One's on the Bay are so expensive and I have to consider import tax also.

Yeah, prices are all over the place. One sold on L.Camera site in Europe for 8,000 euro recently with cap and hood only though. A few on the Bay but all from Europe or Hong Kong, which I will incur import tax . Hopefully something comes up but I am in no hurry.

There was one on the Leica forum recently tat was advertised for 7,700 Euros, not mint with some marks (It was obviously well used but, looked clean in the right places)

    Thanks IWC Doppel,

I think you are talking about the L-Camera forum, which I mentioned above, and I did contact the seller then. It is marked "sold" in German. Thanks anyway.
