FW800 Hub Kit and Lee Hood

1. FW800 Powered Hub & Two Short Cables.

Built-up this kit when thought we would be acquiring an H4D, but purchased an H5D kit, so no longer need. Once very common, FW800 hubs are now getting hard to find, so it makes no sense for us to have this in our gear closet when someone else could use it.

The hub is an older (aren't they all?) Unibrain, sold under various names, unit that allows supplemental 12v power, from any 12-30v DC source (not included), to be fed to an H3D/H4D for reliable tethering. I tested it on the H5D with a common 12V LiO pack, but an AC adapter from any number of cheap sources or other dead products you have around will also work.

A common complaint of H3D/4D tethering (which require the backs to be powered from the computer when tethered) is that the variability of the power available via the FW800 ports on MBPs over the model years lead to dropped connections or failure to connect at all.

The hub also comes with a detachable plate to allow mounting to a hardcase, etc. The short (~18") cables allow connection between the hub, camera and Mac and come in handy if in a case, are as follows:

1. Female FW800 to Right-Angle FW800 Male (e.g. HxD tether cable to Hub)
2. Male Right-Angle FW800 to Straight FW800 Male (e.g. Hub to Mac)

Note: Also have a Sandisk FW800 CF Card reader I can include for an additional CDN$40.

Price CDN$250 shipped in NA by Canada Post. payment by EFT if in Canada or PP (add 3.5%).

2. Lee Medium Wide Hood

Great shape. Configured with 1 slot as find two slots allows for light leaks. Comes with case & screwdriver.
