Joe I use this one in my 15 inch and it can run 64 bit also

You have to be careful some work and some units will not when it comes to Express cards

Hi Joe,
I can confirm that the combination

with

works perfect on my 15" MBP with Snow Leopard (Mac OSX 10.6.2).
From some other posts i remember that the slightly older ExpressCard
(http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempo_sata_express34.html)
seems to need some special treatment when used with Mac OSX 10.6
and i'm not sure the issues were finally solved. I would pick the
"Pro" version in the case you choose to buy from Sonnet.

Thanks for the advice guys. I did not realize there was such a speed diference between eSATA and FireWire 800.
Definitely echo that the Sonnet Tempo SATA Pro is very reliable and speeds are as they advertise.
I also have a cheap AKE ESATA BC338 Expresscard which you can find on ebay, it works quite well but the speed is no where near the Sonnet Tempo Pro. The nice thing with the AKE BC338 card is that it's lowprofile and doesn't stick out of your MAC also you can boot from it and run a BluRay DVD Burner via a esata external box.
So I use both, because the Sonnet Pro chipset does not allow you to boot from a hard drive and does not allow you to connect to a esata DVD Burner.
