Good news on the SSD front...

I got a 17" MacBook Pro 8-9 months ago in New Zealand. In that time the same laptop has got better processor/ram etc... and price has dropped NZ$700=US$550... I like the idea of 13" MacBook Air weight. The price of it now with SSD is (my opinion) way sky high. Maybe in a 1-3 years would be interesting to see what it comes down to with SSD. Price drop of SSD of 40-50% a year sounds promising!!!

These are interesting, but remind me of the 5Meg "external RAM" drive we had to increase the compile times on our XT back in the late 80's - they sure did cut down on the time, but they were fragile. Fast forward twenty years and things are back.

Question I have is once everyone moves to a solid state primary drive over the next seven yers, what will you back up to? Magnetic spindle, optical, or tape?
