Your Favorite iPad Case?

I just bought a basic iPad today (16gb WiFi) and so of course, I'm in the market for a case. With 16+ pages to the IPad Discussions thread (as of today), I thought it might be good to have a single thread for iPad cases....since it's probably the first accessory that just about everyone will be looking to buy.

So without further delay....what's your favorite iPad case? Comments on what you like or don't like about it would be helpful too.

I just bought the Apple case. Its lightweight, not slippy, folds like a book thus allowing me to hold it like one, but best for me is the tilt which I can use on my knee or chair arm to type or read or watch a movie (or on a flat surface too). Very basic and wipeoffable and fits very tight. Oh and it allows to use all the controls and connections while on unless you use the dock/keyboard.

I think others have posted about their choices in the Ipad discussion thread

Well, mine normally goes naked . . . . however, it lives in it's own little dedicated pocket in here:

But Emma needed a case, and the Apple case is as Diane says - insignificant and functional - and great for propping things up. I'll probably end up getting one of those for holiday.

What camera bag is that Jono? Looks like it would be perfect for my Panny G1, a couple of lenses and the iPad.

I saw a leather flip folio type case made by Marware called the Eco-Flip at the local Mac store yesterday. Normally sells for $39.95. They had one which had been returned and was on sale for $29.95, so I bought it to use for now. They didn't have any Apple cases in stock and weren't expecting any for a couple weeks. The DODO case looks really nice....might get that for the longer term use.

i have 3. first one was a very nice leather sleeve. turns out the ipad wants to stay in it more than come out, a bit of a pain but nice for meetings.

second case was a neoprene made for the ipad. the open seems just a bit too small and the zipper kept catching on the pad making me nervous about scratches.

third, best and most preferred is the apple case. fits nice, stays closed without having the front flip/flap open. snug enough that the entire thing fits in the slit of my camera bag perfectly. and wipes clean nicely.

The Apple case for the IPAD looks to be one of the best. I am getting one for fathers day, but they are back ordered for 4 to 5
weeks. Getting mine hopefully July 22 nd.
The China workers need to pick up the pace.

HI Gary - it's a Fogg b-sharp - it is a great bag, and a perfect size for my M setup. Tamarkin sell them, or you can probably go direct, talk to bee berman:

I ordered the Apple case at the same time I order the iPad, but the Apple case was a much longer lead time item. So when my iPad came I went looking for another case. I ended up in a local Apple reseller store and they had pretty nice leather case that is a similar design to the Apple case. It is the Hammerhead Verso. I really like the tilt angle provided when the flap is folded back. I would prefer a mounting system like the Dodo case, but the slip-in style is acceptable.

If I had an ipad I would most likely purchase a case from vajacase. I use them for my itouch, bought one for my wife's itouch, and bought another for my itouch recently.

I received my Apple case by Fedx today, two days early.
Boy it sure is nice, glad my son got it for me for Father's day. Worth the wait.

I finally decided to ignore all your good recommendations and ordered the Piel Frama leather case. http://www.cases.com/pf484.htm. I had a few cases from them for other gadgets and loved them. We'll see... The only thing I miss on almost all these cases is the option to keep a stylus with the Ipad because I expect to be using the notebook functions frequently. Now I'm waiting patiently for the case and the camera connection kit to arrive...
