brand new to the forum
im visiting the grand canyon the last week in march, a live web camera of the
park service shows a live picture full of haze that looks like pollution, fog, etc
as a noobie to this forum, and to landscape photog. can someone suggest filters,
techniques etc to cut down and take images with more contrast and clariy.
hoping to test my new d600 landscpape qualities. also never shot raw format. is this something i should do to improve the quality of the images?,
any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Shooting in raw will greatly improve your results, but you will need a raw processor like Adobe Lightroom. You will still need to get correct exposures. Filters can help if exposing for the canyon, but sky seems somewhat overexposed as a result. A fix would be to shoot bracketed for this, your tripod is your friend here! You can't really fix the haze or pollution, that's just the nature of the surroundings, until it clears, but levels can certainly be brought up again in post!
