Image size for projection.

I'm about to embark on a series of slide shows using a Canon SXGA+ projector (1400 by 1050 pixels). This will give much higher detail than the typical VGA LCD projector.

Am I right in concluding that when I prepare my images I should make them 1400 by 1050? No point in making them larger, is there?

I've not done this before so any advice will be welcome!

Thanks,
Bill

The projector is just like your computer display--no need to resize, the hardware will do it for you. But you are right that you are not getting more detail with higher resolution images. The only reason I resize for a slide show is to keep the file size down. If the file and images are too heavy, some transitions are not very smooth. For smaller slide shows where I may want print quality handout of the show, I do not resize.

The dpi number is just a placeholder for printing. If you resize to the monitor pixel dimension, the DPI values makes no difference--just like when you post to GetDPI, ironically, the DPI does not matter (it is all in the "Get").
