What "External Editing" Preferences in Lightroom?

I'm curious about the settings others use for their Preferences for External Editing in Lightroom.

I use the following:
File Format: TIFF
Color Space: ProPhoto RGB
Bit Depth: 16 bits/Component
Resolution: 300
Compression: None

A 12mb RAW file converts to a 50mb TIFF (+/-), depending on the original file.

Am I doing the right thing for the image? Thanks for any advice, or comments.

yes, this way you store the file with the best possible data preserved.

I do use the same settings, apart for the 300dpi wich I prefer 288 dpi in relation with my printer resolution.
