HELP: Importing NEF raw files into LR6.

I have them in a Folder on my desktop ( appr 220 Images @ 36mpix each) I select the folder from my desktop and destination. What I see is the images are not seen as they were taken. They have darken look to them and I can't select all or any. Is the problem with Nikon D810 NEF files? The images are DSC-123.NEF Very frustrating. Cant figure it out. Is it possible the total files are too many in the folder? Thank you NEED YOUR HELP >

If you run the NEF files throught Nikon View it appends data to the file and makes them unreadable to LR.
