Best practice for large stitched pano

I have been asked to create an image around 8’ long to print on glass. In digging around most of what I remember from years back had disappeared. I am not sure where to start as I don’t normally print large or stitch. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I would expect that I would use a D850 and Otus 55 to do the job.

Clean, sharp files. There is not a lot of mystery to it. Viewing condition also are important. But if it is 44" tall and 8' long, the D850 will make an image that can handle that size easily. I have made 12' panos from a Pentax 645D with very little work.
